Contact
Two ways, and both of them a person.
There is no form on this website, and no online calendar. A first message goes to a telephone or an inbox, and a person answers it.
How to reach me
The telephone is the way to reach me.
You do not have to have anything prepared. “I saw your website and I am not sure where to start” is a complete opening.
To be confirmed before launch
The email address is still not on record, so nothing stands in for it here. Also outstanding: whether the number above takes text messages, who answers it, and how quickly — a response-time promise is the easiest thing on a website to break, and it breaks on someone who is already waiting.
Why there is no form
A form shows a green tick saying “message sent”, and unless there is a paid, monitored service behind it, that tick is a claim nobody has checked. Every form also sends what you typed to somebody’s server — and this site has no analytics, no cookies and no third-party requests at all, which one form would end.
A phone number and an email address already work: with JavaScript off, on an old phone, from a library computer, on a slow connection.
If you are stuck on what to write
This is enough
“Hello. I would like to talk to someone. I am not sure where to start. Could we have a short conversation?”
That is a complete first message. You do not owe anyone a summary of your history in order to ask for an appointment, and you will not be asked to explain yourself in writing before a human being talks to you.
If it helps to include more, useful things are: which of the four ways of meeting you would prefer, whether you would rather speak Arabic or English, and roughly when you are reachable. All optional.
What happens after you send it
A reply, and then a short free conversation of about fifteen minutes if you want one.
To be confirmed before launch
The honest response time. A real figure — “within two working days”, or whatever is genuinely true — and what the arrangement is at weekends and during holidays.
It is written as a placeholder rather than guessed because a response-time promise is the easiest thing on a website to break, and breaking it lands on someone who is already waiting.
Email is not private and is not for emergencies. It sits on servers, it can be read by anyone with access to the account, and nobody is watching an inbox at three in the morning. If it is urgent, use one of the crisis lines; they are answered around the clock.
Where sessions happen
In person in Vancouver, and anywhere in British Columbia by phone, Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
To be confirmed before launch
The practice address, and the access description that belongs with it. See the in-person section for the full list of what that description needs to cover. Access information that turns out to be wrong is worse than no information at all, so nothing is guessed here.
The entrance again, this time close — the door, the buzzer or handle, the number. What someone looks for when they are standing outside and already nervous.

One note on geography: I work with people who are in British Columbia. If you are somewhere else in Canada, or outside it, say so in your first message. It is not necessarily a barrier, but it is better sorted out first than discovered halfway through.
